Follow these steps.

Version Number

Find out the detailed version of a software program installed on your computer.

If you're running Windows 7 or Windows Vista:

Step 1

Click Start Windows 7 start button, click Control Panel, click Programs, click Programs and Features, and then click the name of the program.

Step 2

In the Details Pane at the bottom of the window, view the product version.

If you're running Windows XP:

Step 1

Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

Step 2

Click the name of the program and then on the Click here for support information link.

Note: If the Details Pane is hidden, click Organize, click Layout, and then select Details Pane.

Compatibility status
 

To determine product compatibility status for the Compatibility Center, we looked at whether:

  • The product has earned the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo which indicates it has met Microsoft testing requirements for compatibility with 64-bit and 32-bit Windows 7.

  • The device manufacturer or software publisher stated this product is compatible with Windows 7 now or will be compatible by a future date.

The 32-bit versions of the Windows operating system can use up to 4 GB of memory while the 64-bit versions of Windows can use more memory (up to 128 GB of RAM). More memory helps increase overall system and application performance, especially with applications optimized for 64-bit.
